Early Childhood Education on Water Care
This book presents a regional analysis of water conservation education for children across Latin America, the Caribbean, and the United States. It examines a wide range of initiatives — from classroom programs and community campaigns to games, scientific participation, and digital platforms — that seek to cultivate a culture of water stewardship from an early age. The findings highlight the importance of collaboration among institutions, teacher training, locally adapted approaches, and the active role of children as agents of change who influence their families and communities.
The use of constructed wetlands for surface water treatment in Latin America and the Caribbean
Nature-based solutions, such as constructed wetlands, offer a promising and sustainable technology for mitigating certain types of surface water pollution. This opportunity is particularly significant in developing regions, such as Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), since constructed wetlands necessitate less infrastructure, management, skilled labor, and consumables compared to more conventionally adopted engineered water treatment technologies. Beyond their treatment facilitation capabilities, constructed wetlands can enhance societal value and community acceptance while supplying ecosystem services such as habitats for local flora and fauna.

La capacidad de comunicar por escrito de manera clara y convincente los resultados de una investigación es tan importante como la investigación misma. En el ámbito científico actual (altamente competitivo, multilingüe y orientado a la evaluación por pares), la redacción de manuscritos rigurosos y bien estructurados ya no es una habilidad opcional, sino un requisito indispensable para el avance académico y profesional. Sin embargo, muchos investigadores se encuentran con una barrera recurrente, representada por la falta de orientación práctica y contextualizada sobre cómo transformar un conjunto de datos, ideas o experimentos en un artículo sólido, coherente y publicable. Este libro surge precisamente de esa necesidad.
Riesgos geológicos en las quebradas de la región Arequipa
Este libro brinde a varias comunidades rurales del Departamento de Arequipa la posibilidad de predecir y prevenir desastres provocados por los riesgos geológicos como deslizamientos de tierra, huaicos, etc. A través de mapas detalladas, las comunidades pueden identificar zonas de riesgo y aprovechar este conocimiento en la planificación.
